Well - it IS October - The time of the year when we seem to be more in the path of a bad storm from the South Atlantic.

Wonder if those seagulls there are planning their EXIT.  As of right now, we are considered to be in what the Meteorologists call the "Cone of Uncertainty" with the path of Matthew.  Seems we are in line for more of an impact than it appeared yesterday since the storm has turned a little westward.   They are saying to expect more beach erosion, big waves and lots & lots of wind with rain Saturday into Sunday.  The storm hit Les Cayes, Haiti which is on the southwest side pretty hard with officials evacuating everyone there.

Hurricane Matthew is being called the most powerful Atlantic tropical storm in almost a decade with the possible impact unclear ~ So I guess we are, right now, in "wait and see" mode.  As of this morning, Matthew would be a "major hurricane" from Florida to North Carolina with the projected impact varying.

Weather Officials are being cautious and predicting that Matthew could be a Category 3 hurricane situated about 50 miles off the East coast when it approaches the U.S.   Everyone's watching the models forecasting a continued westward path just off the coast but that can change in a moment's notice.

It's always best to be prepared so it's a wise choice to start now and not wait until Thursday or Friday to make sure you are ready for the storm should it make it's way up to our area.  Even if Matthew spins out in the Atlantic near here, it appears to be a pretty big storm in size.  With that last rain we got pelted with late last week and people still recovering from that one, one wouldn't think this would be anything to take lightly.  I'm sure people who live in Ocean City will be on their guard with the Officials already watching the projected path and planning safety strategies.
